Default SDHC card classes - difference noticeable?

Looking at picking up a good-sized micro-SD card and am debating about the speed versus capacity question. I've only used a class 4 card on a Bold 9700, so it's unlikely the speed of the card was a hamper on the performance of the phone.

For more modern phones, particularly Android, is there a noticeable difference between say a class 4 and a class 10? I understand the value for cameras and rapid shooting, but am unsure if the same holds true for a smartphone.

No. Its only benefit in a phone would be faster file transfers.

if you're storing apps on the card, then yes, absolutely a huge difference. - and smartphones these days have burst modes too.
