Computer for college
Hello everyone, i'm wondering if you can help me.
I'm looking for a good laptop for school that can also substitute as a nice gaming laptop.
I was eyeballing the following asus laptop and i was wondering if it would be quiet enough to function in a classroom setting without pissing everyone off
ASUS G55VW-DS71 15.6in FHD Core I7-3610QM Quad Core 12GB 750GB GeForce 660M 2GB HDMI Notebook - ASUS - G55VW-DS71
Regards, foloed.

Looks like a nice machine.

This doesn't look too bad either (in Buy&Sell) http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum...e-m17x-r3.html

Take it from me a Asus tech and many time university student... No absolutely no G series the odd issues and huge amount of rmas on these units make it a bad main system. I highly without a doubt recommend the N series asus very silent and bullet proof plus they look like art and they are far easier to lug around. If Ur set on 15" the GT60 from MSI is another desktop replacement that it well built and very fast.

In conclusion no G series for school bad plan pm me if you want more info:)

Also, does anyone know a general guideline on how well it runs games :P?

There's too many configurations of laptop GPU for benchmarks to be very accurate (as manufacturers get to HEAVILY change the clock speeds or even change RAM types), but NotebookCheck's reviews are a starting point if you can't find a review for the exact laptop you are looking for:
