Default GPS advice needed

My parents are looking for a new GPS and I was wondering what people think are the best ones out there.

Quote:
I have the Garmin 225w, 4X3 (approx). I'd like to keep the same size as it would fit the case I already have. They have discontinued this GPS. Probably around 150$ with life time maps, and maybe traffic updates. Not sure if I can get those two features at that price. No real rush, would like to take it to Europe, so I might need one that shows the coordinates as some hotels will give you that to find them. I know I'll have to pay to download European maps.
That's what I have to work with.

I find garmins algorithm works better than mcgellan and tomtom, so personally I'd stick with garmin. Although for some reason they still don't do it as good as google maps/navigation for android, but if you're in the city it works fine anyways, in the country it'll send you on dirt roads and stuff

As for features/prices I have no idea!

Canadian tire usually has good GPS sales, should be able to get something decent for $150 these days

EDIT: I know I said garmin, but here's a nice tomtom on sale with lifetime maps for $150, although it's 5"

Garmin, no question. Costco usually sells them at a good price with built in blue tooth and lifetime map updates. Once you use a Garmin, the TomTom's and others simply don't compare.

Garmin for sure. Hope your parents are aware that GPS units are never 100% reliable in their directions, they are best used in conjunction with a good paper map.

They are quite aware, my Dad always has a map and a paper route planned out (even if it's just from CAA).

Another vote for garmin. Definitely the most user friendly interface, and Costco usually has a good deal on a few models.

I got a garmin with the free life time updates. Updates vary in price from 30-50 bux so you might wanna take that into consideration.
