Well that does make sense although it's still a lot of money.

How about the Dell XPS17 series? I've tried some different stuff and have made this build:
OS: Win7 64-bit
HDD: 750 GB (couldn't get 500GB)
RAM: 4GB
CPU: Intel Core i5-2430M processor 2,40 GHz, Turbo Boost up to 3,00 GHz (only 2 cores I believe)
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GT555M (1GB). Could get 3GB but won't that be a bottleneck?
Price: 1108US$. With 6GB ram it's 1160US$.

The screen resolution is 1600x900 as I thought 1920x1080 (+141US$) would be less smart due to the performance of the GT555m.What do you think?

I"d recommend a Sager laptop, they have some impressive gaming laptops and are normally better value than their competition. And they have amazing screens, I just recently got mine and I'm really enjoying it. It may be made of plastic but it hides the power well and isnt completely ugly with LED lights everywhere.

Been looking on the Sager website and they do seem to have som very interesting offers. It's not the most beautiful design I've seen but that's not the key factor.

So I put together a system cheaper than the Dell XPS17 (1039US$) but with a more powerful processor (i5-2520M, 2,5GHz) and more ram (8GB). The GPU, GT555m, is the same although it's 2GB and not 1GB. Will that be a bottleneck? All in all, will a GT555M 2 GB be enough to run games like Dawn of War 2, Starcraft 2, Diablo 3 and similar on best settings with good FPS (30+?) on a 17,3" 1920x1080 screen?

Also, what is "Thermal Compound"? I can choose between "Stock Standard Thermal Compound" or "IC Diamond Thermal Compound - CPU + GPU [+$25.00]". What is it, what is the difference, which should I choose?

Thanks, as always your help and advice is much appreciated.

Edit: But of course since I live in Denmark, the world wide delivery will be 294,90US$ Dell will ship for 35,5US$ as it is not worldwide. Anyone know a European shop that has varied Sager laptops that can be customized?
