However, before you go and get all excited about the name, let’s just say these may not be the graphics processors you originally thought they would be…

Looks like AMD has decided to take a page from the nVidia renaming GPUs while slightly improving them playbook. Are the that bad off or really didn't plan their 6xxx series numbers correctly yet again?

Though the current HD 7000M cards certainly won’t shake up the competition, they represent the first sign that a brand new architecture from AMD is right around the corner.
Oh, I'm so excited. I've been waiting a while to replace my video card, and now I can almost taste the new ones.

Ok, can someone explain to me why AMD sees fit making 4 subdivisions of each series (7x30, 7x50, 7x70 and 7x90)? Sure it makes it look great on paper having so many varied options for each vendor's needs, but jesus christ this seems like a little much.

While I appreciate having different levels of performance and needs in the desktop market, I agree with you and think that that many options in the mobile space is just ridiculous. But whatever, I don't see people selling of their lappies just to get a 7K series GPU. I am curious to see new architecture though that's coming up!
