Laptop recommendation needed ($700 budget)
 

Hey everyone,

So I'm looking to replace my laptop (ditching the Transformer idea as it wouldn't be practical from a productivity standpoint), and I've found the following:

Acer Aspire AS5560-SB448 for 599.99
Asus K53TA-CST1-CBIL for 549.30
Acer Aspire AS4755G-6457 for 635.53
Acer TimelineX AS4830TG-6576 for 683.22

For multimedia, typical office applications, and some gaming (preferably BF3 on low/med at least), which would be the best option, based on a value perspective? Any help is greatly appreciated.

My vote is for the third one listed. i5/gt540 and cheaper price than the 4th.

Sorry for not updating, but I actually managed to find something even cheaper :P It's an Acer TimelineX 3830TG-6412. It was going for ~450 at Staples, so I couldn't resist. Only downside is the fact that it sports an i3-2310m, but it still has an awesome video card (GT 540M), and based on benchmarks found on the Notebookcheck site, it's pretty much equivalent to the A6-3400M anyways.

Definitely happy with my purchase, though, as it lasted me for about 6 hours yesterday, which is absolutely astounding for the 6-cell battery it has. And it does in fact run BF3 at low/med settings just fine too :biggrin:

i3 is PLENTY of horsepower. You needed more GPU power than CPU for gaming anyways. Glad you found one!
