Alienware M14x Gaming Notebook Review Comment Thread

The M14x is regarded by many to be the notebook to get if you are looking for gaming on the go and it actually starts at a reasonable price of around $1100. Naturally, “portable” is a loose term considering this small 14” laptop weighs in at a hefty 6.5 lbs and as with most Alienware products, it can be optioned out to a point where it will beggar all but the most well heeled gamer.

Question, why would you benchmark games that mean nothing to people?

SKYMTL October 18, 2011 05:09 AM

I think you're generalizing a bit too much. Plenty of people care about those games with the exception of Just Cause 2 possibly.

I'll be updating the gaming suite the moment BF3 is released. It will include Dirt 3, BF3 and Street Fighter.

Nice review, but is it possible to get the laptop temps in Celsius?

(Temp F -32)/1.8 = Temp C

Usually I say no problemo but not on this one.

For the Celsius people I have a handy code:

Blue = Good
Yellow = Warm
Red = Hot
Pink = Testicle searing

Just curious as to why. Also used as a review for the readers under us?

The images get VERY cluttered when using both.

Plus, how many times have you heard of component temperatures being measured in Celsius?

Hmmmm, Core Temp / Real Temp, Afterburner all default to Celsius for me. And that is how I have always read them :)

But the F works too if you know the conversion.
