Was gonna say it's all in Celcius for me. Thanks ST. So basically I don't want both temps, just Celcius in the pics.

having now owned every alienware model since dell took over I can tell you that the m14x is really not worth the money. You would be much much better off getting an older m15x. build quality is much better and the system is upgradeable (which is the main reason to buy alienware) the lack of an mxm card on this notebook makes it and all around fail at its price point.

I was gonna say Just Cause 2 was the only game I really liked on that list lol

Very nice review, I own one of these and I'm extremely happy with it. Just wish it wasn't so loud, it could obviously stand to have a different fan speed profile and slightly higher temps. And forget about overclocking the GPU

Plus, how many times have you heard of component temperatures being measured in Celsius?
I see Celcius in the review's graph of component temperatures, directly above the photos in question -- courtesy of HWInfo and GPU-Z.

That keyboard looks way better than my G73. Plus this Asus trackpad makes me want to vaporize small furry animals, so I can't believe I'm saying this but I may want to look into one of their gaming notebooks. That fan noise is unfortunately a pretty big negative for the notebook as a whole though...

I beg to differ.

The M15x has an extensive cooling system which can take the additional heat load from higher end MXM cards. The M14x doesn't.

I should also note that only higher-end mobile GPUs are regularly available in MXM form factor while the smaller cores are usually integrated onto a notebook's primary or secondary PCB.

Finally, with sources for MXM cards quickly drying up, the few which are still available will generally cost so much that you're almost better off buying a new notebook.

MXM cards are not really drying up, they only carry so much stock on one type of card. There is nothing saying that when the amd 7 series cards come out there will not be a new supply. Also it's a huge advantage when your warranty runs out on a gaming system because the video card is normally the first to go. Also right now I am selling a 6990m for $450 and I have seen 6970m go for $350. Its a lot but when you consider you will be getting 2x, if not more gaming preformance than the 555 its really is worth it. The differnce between trying to sell off your old m15x and buy a new m14x will be greater than just spending $350 to upgrade your video card.

The m11x is a nice laptop even though the graphics preformance is lacking. Its size means that it is 100% portable which is a major plus. The m14x is already a clunky laptop which is going to need its own bag, in which case you might as well add 2lbs and bring a m15x or any of the other 15" mxm laptops.
