Anyone know when LG P500H getting 2.3 android?

Hey gang,

I have a Koodoo LG P500H Optimus one phone. It was suppose to get the 2.3 android update. Has anyone heard when it will come out??

Thanks :punk:

How old is the phone model? If it's more than a year old they probably stopped supporting it.

I know motorola dropped android version support for my milestone after it's first birthday. To get 2.3 I have to root it and get a 2.3 with functional drivers for it.

Well, I have the Optimus as well and we were promised an upgrade, but I am not holding my breath.

LG is known for not updating their phones, but XDA has a small community that is working on the Optimus One, you might want to check them out if you're OK with an unofficial upgrade.

Get Rom Manager from the Android store and use it to install Cyanogen 7. It is easy enough and you not only get Gingerbread you get a phone that works 1000000% better than the original ROM.

Update is officially rolling out in Canada. My phone wants to update to it now although I am leaving Cyangen Mod on it.

^Do you have a link to the source?

Lots of conflicting reports, but when I use the LG software and connect my phone it wants to do the update, I just don't want to overwrite Cyanogen or I'd try it.

If your phone is rooted and unlocked all you need is Rom Manager from the Android Market and it will install CYanogen for you without much fuss.

Interesting... I'll try that tonight :D

Thank you b1lk1!

Just follow the directions on XDA for flashing a ROM with our phone. I should say I did brick my phone the first try, but it didn't take too much effort to redo it. I forgot to check the clear data/cache settings first time around and I believe that was the culprit. Otherwise, once I got it running it really transformed this phone into something amazing. If we could only have flash support, lol.

PS: I am a phone noob so if you are too I wouldn't be too afraid to try.
