Sager Laptops

I just ordered one ... it's being built now and I hope to have it in a week or two ... I was curious if anyone here has one, or had one. Any experience with Sager? All the reviews I've been reading are quite stellar so I hope I made the right choice.

My Lenovo Y560 has crapped out on me. It will be going back to Lenovo for a warranty repair in September ... I'm not too happy about that. It pauses and crashes. Tested multiple hard drives, clean installs, various different RAM chips and combinations. Updated and downgraded drivers, flashed new and old bios's. I ran out of ideas.

Anyways ... Sager. Here's what I ended up with. I think it should be a monster when I'm done swapping in my SSD and RAM.

• 8Gb DDR3 1333
• Corsair Force Series GT 120GB SSD - OS Drive
• Seagate Momentus XT 500Gb - Storage
• Intel® Ultimate-N 6300 Network Card
• 16:9 - Matte Screen - 1920x1080! Badass for a 15.6" Laptop.

I ordered it without the OS ... as I have a copy of win 7 pro already. All said and done it came to $1050 + shipping. Seems like a damn good deal if you ask me. With the SSD, RAM, XT HD I already have, I'm into this for $1350.

Worth it over a pre configured? I think so ... I window shopped forever but nothing came close for the price, that didn't include dealing with lots of bloat nonsense, and gaudy gaming laptops with LED's and what not. I do feel bad about the video card though. This will be my first nVidia based purchase ever.

Yup! You get a drivers disk, user guide, power adapter. That's it. No nonsense. The last thing I wanted to deal with is another laptop held back by Home Premium. I need my Group Policy Editor!

They look like alien spaceships IMO ... The Sager ones are extremely subtle. You wouldn't know what it is without recognizing the brand. Not to mention the price difference. A comparable Asus system is a good $300 more.

I looked at Asus and MSI but they are both overpriced. And the LED's! OMG I hate that.
