iphone 3g with custom ios WhiteD00R. A month ago, I was ready to ditch my 3G cause its soo slow, even after a fresh stock 4.1.3 ios install. As a last resort, I tried the modified IOS and I now can use my phone without having a 1 second latency performing every function. I love it! Next phone will be a Samsung Galaxy.

BalckBerry 8330. (work phone) We're planning to switch the whole lot of 'em to iPhone.. meh :(. So either iPhone 4 sometime soon or iPhone 5 later on. I really would have liked the HTC Sensation.

BB Torch was such an abomination, it drove me to the iPhone 4 (rogers). I finally feel at home now ;)

Just rooted and S-OFFed my Desire Z last night, and am now running Cyanogenmod 7.1-RC1. It's nice to have Gingerbread on the Desire Z earlier than anticipated, and the little Cyanogenmod tweaks are just awesome. Performance and battery life seem a lot better so far too. However, I'm still sceptical on battery life. I'll give it a week and see if it's any better than Sense.

Martin, make sure you put a custom ROM on the SGS to maximize the potential of the phone.

Any precision?

Currently using the following.

Phone: Motorola Defy - Stock
Carrier: Telus

Phone (work): BB Bold 9700
Carrier: Telus

I love the Defy for the dust proof-ness and water resistance.

How ever if i want a rugged dumb phone i would get something like this.

I'm getting the Samsung Galaxy S-II on a Vodaphone plan this week some time, obviously cant give my opinion on it yet but the reviews so far look great. Probably going to be on a 24 Month plan so I don't know what will be out by the time my plans up probably check out the Galaxy S-III but it will most likely be about a year old by the time I'm off my S-II plan so who knows, I don't know much about plans but if I can upgrade my phone to a Galaxy S-III when it comes out I will probably do that when I can, just not sure if that is something phone providers will do? I doubt it.

Really looking forward to it though, it will be my first smart phone & touch screen phone. I've been holding off buying such a fancy phone but now friends have shown me how useful they are I can no longer resist. Doubt I'll be able to go back to a old Nokia 6300 after experiencing a GS-II (Not to say it's not a great phone for the price, very tough and reliable).
