My System Specs

Default Thoughts on this budget gaming laptop?

I'm getting my wife a laptop that she can do moderate gaming on (Jewel Quest, Sims 3 - that kind of thing)
Budget in the $500-$600 range.

I found this one on NCIX which looks like it'll do the job just fine, but I figured I'd check with the hive-mind here before hitting the "go" button.

NCIX.com - Buy Acer Aspire AS5552G-7464 AMD Phenom II X4 N970 6GB 500GB 15.6IN Radeon 6650 DVDRW WIN7 HP Notebook - Others - LX.RC402.067 - in Canada

Main concerns are:
Wireless capability - the Inspiron 1521 we have now drops connection CONSTANTLY. We'd like to stay connected to the net for more than 5 minutes at a time.
Moderate level gaming - as mentioned, Sims 3 is probably the most demanding game it'd play.

I know it only has a 5400rpm hard drive but I'm not overly worried about that - can always replace with a SSD down the road if needed.

Thoughts on this one or recommendations on other laptops (cheaper ones that would still do the job) are appreciated.

Thanks!

if she's not looking for something mobile i would say the labtop you've got is pretty solid for the budget. im not an expert but the 6650 is the best your going to do at that budget. i dont think the cpu will be the bottleneck unless as the poster above mentioned you want batt life

you might get away with something like this Acer Aspire 5742-6692 w/ Core i3-380M, 6GB, 500GB, DVD+/-RW, 15.6in HD, Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit at Memory Express Computers Asus K42F-B1 w/ Core i3-370M, 4GB, 500GB, DVD+/-RW, 14in HD, Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit at Memory Express Computersbut the gaming graphics wont be on par with the mobile 6650

Thanks for the feedback guys.
Laptop will mostly be plugged in, so I'm not overly concerned with battery life.
