Hi guys,
I'm looking at two laptops today (one is a netbook) and I'm conflicted about which one to get. The first one is the
Acer Aspire AO522, which comes with C-50 cpu & 1GB RAM & Windows 7 Starter, while the second is the
Toshiba Satellite L650, which is an i3 cpu & 4GB ram & Win 7 Home Premium.
Now, all I need right now is a laptop/netbook that allows me to serve the web & watch youtube videos in HD (720p required, 1080p even better). I won't be playing any games at all and won't be watching DVDs. The other thing I'll need it to do is serve as photo dump where I upload all my photos. I might need to do some quick post-processing, which means photoshop. Above all, however, I don't want to be hauling something heavy - it needs to be light.
With these requirements in mind, which is a better choice for me? I like the weight & compactness of the Acer, but I'll probably have to add more ram after buying it. I might also need to upgrade to Home Premium if I want to add 4gb.
The Toshiba has a larger screen, though its native resolution is a bit low when you compare it its actual screen size. Plus I'm more used to carrying something 14" and smaller. Its up sides are obviously the 4GB ram and a larger hdd.
In terms of price, I can get the netbook for around $280. Add ram & Windows upgrade, it'll be around $430 total. The Toshiba will cost me around $560 total but it's fully upgraded.
So conflicted. Please help me choose! Thanks!
