Default DAy 12ish

Camera seems a lot quicker than the N1, do miss that trackball though....i always used it for
taking pictures as I could landmark without looking at the screen for the shutterbutton.

Cant seem to find where to enter my voicemail...pause plus password for quick voicemail access.

Phone hardware is functioning Eh.O.K.

I did find a way to delete MOTOROLA spamvertising tagged to all of my outgoing email.

goto motoblur meassage widjet, longpress, go to messanging, here is where you see icons for all of your email accounts, press menu button (btm left) then.....messaging settings>email>compose options

its here you can alter your text and footer for outgoing mail.......

Launcher pro is great, not using Motoblur at all.
I paid for the PLUS version, $3.00 or so, for the full PLUS version.

On the plus version you can resize your widgets. There are also a few more widgets available to you.

I find Launcher Pro fast and it does everything I need it to (for now), mind you I have no other Android device to compare to.

I had to install a home switcher as well. This way you can switch between Motoblur and Launcher Pro. Mind you I have yet to see a reason to switch back to Motoblur.

BTW my phone is NOT rooted.

Hope this helps.

Hardware wise, the Atrix and other recent high end Android based phones should be performing a lot better than their specs indicate.

I performed a little experiment with my own Android phone purchase. I went with a "Lower End" but affordable product, the LG Optimus One. Good basic hardware but not high end by any means. The stock Telus Branded LG ROM left much to be desired. Stability was a joke, random lockups reboots poor performance ect the more I used the phone.

I never intended to stick with the stock rom, but needed a baseline from which to judge this phone. After doing some online reading I unlocked & rooted the phone. I then, with the help of the amazing XDA Forums, installed a custom recovery and then a custom ROM (Prime V2 based on Android 2.2.1). I even went ahead and installed a custom "Overclock" kernel & everything is working 100%+++. All the issues went away including the more frustrating ones like spontaneous sdcard unmounting.

This lower end entry level Optimus One now has even friends with more upscale devices praising this phone. It's now much faster, very stable and does almost everything I want.

The lesson for me & I suppose for others is that I agree with what was mentioned earlier in this thread. One of the biggest frustrations that Android device users experience isn't with the actual device but with that manufacturers implementation of Android itself. A poor Android implementation can make even a "Hardware Heavy" device like the Atrix seem slow, unstable & undesirable. The issue with the Atrix is Motorola has decided, a bad decision IMHO, to ship an encrypted bootloader making the installing of custom Roms that much more difficult.
For the average user though unfortunately they are stuck with whatever they get.

P.S. I use Go Launcher & LuV it! Also Give Camera360 a try.

Default 4 weeks in.

overall likes:

Camera is fast, and takes great pics....
Camera flash.
Screen Size is great...perfect screen sized for browsing vs portablility.
Good mic and speaker.
Launcher pro makes up for poor motoblur.
Screen is vivid and crisp.
Charge time is fast.
robust build ( i have dropped it over 10 times)
Screen is not scratched yet.....from coins and keys in my pocket.

Dislikes:

Bell.
Motoblur.
Lapdock (crap)
Laggy scrolls.
Fingerprint reader simply is NOT dependable.
No universal email box widget....takes a few clicks to get there.
Text displays incorrect time in text message replies.
Download speeds do not seem faster than 3G...on HSPA+.
Does not play VIDEO!, files like AVI/MPEG4....dont work.
Forward facing camera has no apps....USELESS!

I got this to replace my Nexus One....and simply find no huge advances between this new phone and
my 16 month old Nexus One........apart from battery life.

Overall Acceptable....waiting on improvements to make it recommendable.

I use Rockplayer Lite... it has played everything I've thrown at it except .mkv's.

I find this is true sometimes.... I find you have to swipe at the same speed everytime.... kinda annoying, but still kinda cool at the same time.

purchased a Patriot 32G microSDHC card class ten. 99bucks @ M.E.
preliminary test shows write speed at 9.4MB/s (15.5MB/s read)......i would like to know how the sandisks are performing.....no issues thus far.

works great for gallery viewing of pictures (snappy), video and uploads to computer.

love the extra capacity......will post issues if any arise.

i guess the nexus s wasn't your cup of tea? currently using that, and it seems alright apart from some applications crashing and some features like custom ring tones to certain callers.

overall i like my nexus s, didn't know the atrix was... so interesting.

I must say I still have to see an Android phone that doesn't have issues. Haven't seen the "pure" ones but all that is vendor modified, HTC, Motorola, Samsung all have different problems. And I have access to Atrix every day, ( so now that you know where I work, don't throw with rocks!) but I must say is a wasted hardware. Too bad of that dual core platform. Samsung Galaxy S 9000 : gorgeous screen, crap software, similar situation to Omnia II 8000, same situation. And updates are coming slow for vendor modified Androids. For example Motorola Dext launched with Android 1.5 never got an upgrade. Talking to Motorola is like howling at the moon. I must say the safest option out there, if email/messaging is not your top priority, is iPhone 3GS or 4. 3GS has the advantage of being able to swap the SIM any time to other device, like the USB sticks.
