I have a dell lattitude D620, I cant list the specs off the top of my head, but they are alright, nothing too special though. Just like Inikurmoma, I was forced to buy one for school... They didnt give me an option...

4 usb (still not enough) on board gigabit lan, modem and wifi

things i like

almost everything, kick ass computer even for gaming plays fsx at medium settings with 10 - 40 fps (if you know fsx at all you'll know that is really really good, even for a desktop, nevermind a laptop) runs pretty cool, unless heavy gaming, then i suggest a laptop cooler. 2 gigs of ram is all win 32 can handle anyway, 2x 1.66 Ghz is more than adequate for most applications, the vid card hasnt failed me yet on any game... great laptop, and less than 900 bucks atm, 1900 when i bought it.

things i dont like...

mini shift key... the shift key is half the size of normal, sharing its space with the up key. when your typing and go to hit shift you'll always hit the up key wich will then highlight everything you just wrote, so the next key you press erases everything.... you'll do that till you get used to the shift key being so small, i dont know how long that takes because after a year i STILL do it and it drives me mad.

touch sensitive dvd controls at the top of the keyboard... great idea but...you'll accedentally touch the damn things alot and find yourself waiting for the bloody media center to give you control of your pc back. thank god you can accedentally uninstall the hp custom button drivers...touch sensitive audio slider is pretty cool though.

HP propriety Video drivers, you cant use nvidia drivers in an HP machine (unless you know the secret way) and alot of the hacked drivers you find around crash the machine and do general wierd things to it, so your mostly stuck with old crappy hp video drivers wich are never ever updated unless its to fix some flaw, but never to enjoy the latest games.... there is a way around this though an if you have an HP an know what i'm talking about, and dont know the way around send me a pm an i'll lead you through it.

all in all, this machine was a powerhouse when i bought it (times change fast though) and is still more than enough for most the things i do, i can play any game out there today, on laptop settings of course, but still being able to play fsx cod 4 and crysis on your laptop at very decent frames is pretty decent. though i think the hardware is at the end of its life being "very good" and on its way to just being "pretty good" ;) i've always been happy with the performance of this laptop..... Basically an old tired workhorse LOL. Glad the lease is up soon as the new ones are Core 2 Duos with 1 GB RAM, DVDRW, 80GB HDD. Plus the company is upgrading to Vista in 3 months.

Eurocom P4 2.6ghz, 512mb ram and some ati graphics - and yes that is a desktop p4 processor in a laptop case. I thought Eurocom was soooo cool 5 years ago for making desktops in a laptop, until I burned my hand on the damn keyboard since it was so hot from the CPU, and until I realized that the cooling fan would never, ever, shut off.

So I got an Acer 5100-something (top of the range) for $650 since the box was open. It even plays WoW and Oblivion, though with a few hiccups. Great for class though. The only criticism I have is that the wireless blows, and it appears to be a problem too many acer notebooks, and not only my own.

You guys may all think I'm insane for overclocking everything, but my laptop runs surprisingly cool, as measured off PCWizard2008, my CPU idles at 28 degrees and my gpu at 37. Under load, the CPU hits maybe 55, and the GPU will top out at 70. (All in celsius)
