Looks like the B53 models are up on the NCIX website. And for pretty good prices too.

NCIX.com - Canada's Premier Computer Store - Great Technology, Service and Selection.

B43 when it is released should hit the sub-$999 mark. Crossing my fingers that it shows up soon and I'll grab an 4-cell Sonata battery to go with it.

Is there any reason in particular you're not considering a Thinkpad?

I don't know about the current generation, but in my experience they're reliable, durable, balanced and firm -- important for a travel notebook; nothing beats a Thinkpad keyboard imo. I find their complimentary software to be well designed and unobtrusive. They're well documented. The online community on forums tend to be mature, knowledgeable and helpful.

My Thinkpads have served me dutifully in all kinds of locations and conditions.

Yup. Because frankly their options suck. If I want anything under 5 lbs with a 13" or 14" screen and acceptable battery life, I have the following options:

ThinkPad T410s @ $2000

Or one of the Thinkpad Edge units.

I would seriously look at the T410i but for whatever reason they are still using an ages-old case design on that one.

The T410s base model is $1130+tax through the Lenovo EPP site and the base model is decently equipped.

!?

Not even the Visaperks program allows me to get that price. Link?

Also, doesn't the T410s have that front-mounted battery that makes it impossible to upgrade? Just wondering.

Don't forget to add the code: CAESEPTEMBERDEALS after you add the laptop to your cart.

Here's the link from RFD: http://forums.redflagdeals.com/lenov...no-min-777107/

Hmm. The link doesn't work. I'll take a look on RFD.

One other thing that pisses me off about Lenovo is the fact that they have NOT begun selling the i5 / i3 UM low voltage on their Canadian site. I mean heck, they've been out since JUNE on the US site.

Actually, with that deal I might just pick up the Thinkpad Edge but I can't seem to find the option for non-Vibrantview. I thought it was there....hmm.

They've also removed the X301 from their website.

Search through the expired deals that were RFD Exclusives with Lenovo. There may be something that interests you there and it may even be a better deal. Might have to wait for another one to pop up though.
