My System Specs

Default In Taiwan, need a new phone, need recommendations.

Hey all, So I am a former iPhone user (stolen a few months ago) and after dealing with Rogers and their nonsense (offered me a new 3gs and then reneged on the deal), I am in need of a new phone. I have accounts with both Rogers and Bell, so the carrier is not an issue, but what phones can I get here, that would work on Canadian carriers.

When it comes to Bell I am aware of the HSPA requirements for 3G (UMTS 850/1900), but what are the requirements for Rogers? I would love to pick up a HTC HD2 (Asian version won't work Australian will?), or any newer HTC phone, and would prefer to go Android. I've been looking at the Galaxy phones as well, but HTC seems to be the better choice.

I'd like to pick one up here if possible as prices are much better for anything non Apple, and you can bargain the price down without issue. (assuming they will talk to my white ass lol).

Anyone familiar with all of this? I'm reading through Howard Forums at the moment but that is a rather painful experience.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cool ... good to know. Right now it's a toss up between the HTC Desire, and the Galaxy S Vibrant. The Samsung has much better screen (you can actually use it outdoors) But I prefer the size and quality feel of the HTC. I'm going to have to make a decision argh! Both are about $200 Cad, outright, aka off contract, Which is so much better than in Canada.

Galaxy S is my recommendation here As much as I like the desire, it doesn't really rack up to the Galaxy S
