Default Unlocking the Droid X?

i know the droid X is a verizon exclusive and all(not entirely sure if that means that its just exclusive in the US), but if I were to get my hands on one, what are the chances of the hacker community unlocking the phone and making it work with canadian carriers?

basically,

what are the chances of the droid x getting unlocked?

and

what carrier networks would support the phone?

Why don't you just not buy one until after a workaround is available?

lol yes. i'm just wondering the likelyhood of a workaround being developed in the first place. i'm not a big cellphone guy and i'm honestly not too sure of limitations involved.
