which smartphone to get?

Im looking at choices for phones and I have it narrowed down to 4,

Iphone 3g (referb)@ $30
HTC Dream @ $50 (with rogers)
HTC Hero @ $70
Moto Miletone @ $150

I really like the milestone but not the price lol, the iphone is tempting but I dont like referbs and the fact its an iphone lol. All the phone are with telus except the dream which is rogers, telus offer to me for a contract is

3 years
200 any time minutes
6pm evening and weekends
free talk and text to any 5
500mb data
free voice mail 3
Free caller ID (For 1 year)
unlimted text messaging

The iPhone is not a bad phone; however with the iPhone 4 being released right away, I wouldn't bother getting a 3G. It's getting pretty dated and I rather regret getting mine instead of at least a 3GS. I'd probably vote for the Milestone from the options you have listed.

the milestone would be my choice. If you going to use the same cellphone for 3 years, may as well get the best one. Why not wait for the HTC desire, it's coming for Telus.

For $30 the iPhone would be my choice. But only really because it is a great platform for games.

BAH I just read that the iPhone 3GS is going down to a lower price point 8GB model....maybe Rogers could come up with the $90/3 year contract deals with those once the new one is released....?

Zero82z June 9, 2010 07:18 PM

Milestone for sure.

ragenrok June 9, 2010 07:32 PM

dont know if it changes your opinions but the htc hero is only $30, not $70, also whats everyones opinions on the asus liquid E from rogers? There $50 with a 3 year.

Milestone of you want a slide keyboard, nexus one if you dont.

bojangles June 10, 2010 10:30 AM

Milestone for sure out of that list, but if you had put the iPhone 4G on that list I would have picked that.

Also, supposedly Rogers may be releasing a bunch of new Android phones soon, so if you can wait for a month or so, it might be worth it.

I have a Milestone and love it but if I were with rogers and about to buy a phone today I would strongly consider the Xperia X10 or X10 mini if you want smaller.
