Hey,

Well it seems that the MSI is virtually out of stock everywere that I know to look. So i decided to break my budget and my wallet and bought the ASUS G73 - A2

NCIX.com - Buy ASUS G73JH-A2 Intel Core i7 720QM 8GB 2X500GB 17.3IN FHD Radeon HD5870 Windows 7 Premium Notebook - G73JH-A2 In Canada.

I figured if I was getting rid of my desktop I might as well get something comparable eh??

Hoping it is delivered by end of week so I can play around with it (and hopefully not break it!)

You'll definitely love it. Here's a review. ASUS G73Jh: Today's Top Gaming Laptop - AnandTech :: Your Source for Hardware Analysis and News

Only thing I don't like about it is the poor battery life, which defeats the purpose of a laptop.

After reading FixT's post I actually checked out the warranty and it was correct(not saying FixT was telling lies lol). Hard to beat that kind of support!

So when I seen the asus I fell in love with the aesthetics, not to mention the specs. Battery life was a bummer but 2 hours on a charge with those components is pretty good. Just got to be frugal lol.

Anyways...I am getting myself all excited again now!...the thing hasn't even shipped yet!

Crazy!! lol..

Interesting that I mentioned once before he did, I don't think you really read what I wrote.
But anyhow, the specs on that machine are killer, 2x500gb 7200rpm drives and an 8 cell battery, wow what else do you want.

Great machine I have to say. I wonder if I should be sending out Agent Zero to intercept the package :p...

Aah no worries.. Although Pink does catch color.. darn FixT stealing the show :p..

Anyhow, you should have saved your self $20 bucks lol.. Buy ASUS [G73JH-A2] ASUS G73JH-A2 Intel Core i7 720QM 8GB 2X500GB 17.3IN FHD Radeon HD5870 Windows 7 Premium Notebook

Be Patient, you should always look to see if they have stock, go back to the laptop on ncix and click check stock, it says there 2-3 business days, so hang on they will ship.. I did check the 2-3 days, so no agent zero is still on standby..

^^^ Make sure to:
1. Pull one of the 500GB Momentus Drives
2. Install an SSD
3. Clean install of W7 from the Recovery Disc onto your new SSD

That will really make that thing "snappy"....

Great choice in notebook!
These things are killer little beasties. Make sure to throughly test your sound with a good set of headphones/speakers and THEN your onboard speakers. There have been some issues with the creative driver set on these. I despise creative, so their drivers were gone on my first clean install.

This is the only thing with my computers that I have not had a single tinge of buyers remorse with, usually I get it badly. Which is good, keeps me from blowing 1700 dollars on tri-sli BS on a whim!

Battery life isn't terrible when you consider what you are getting. Turn your brightness down a touch, and shut down background programs I get 2-2.5 hours just typing away. Usually 2 hours with Wifi on.

But ya, the best thing you can do for yourself is test it heavily. Don't OC. And anything weird that happens, get it fixed asap while you can! Solid laptop, but defects happen.
