I love all the facts and evidence presented here.
Intel is making better mobile CPU's right now. Does that dismiss AMD? No. Its just a more budget way to go. Sometimes its worth it to the buyer for the HD3200/4200 accompanying them.

Avoid the nVidia 8000 series chipsets, specifically the 8200+ 8400, they drop like flies. I know.

also amazon.ca has asus ul30vt really nice laptop as well but a little more money.

899.99 on dell.ca, customized with a SU4100, 2gb DDR3, 160GB HDD and otherwise the basics.
Of course tax+shipping+BS= over 1K$. I'll wait to see if any kinks arise before I commit entirely. Also if price improves. Sounds like my goal for 6 months from now lol.
