That resolution will result in text that is WAY too small on that kind of tiny 15" display. Anyway, I vote for the XPS.

Acer or HP.

Both are excellent vendors with IMHO better quality and support than Dell.

This is NOT a flame post against Dell.....just curious as to why he is choosing them over better vendors.
Acer? You have to be kidding me right? I mean I am all for budget computer systems but that's all an Acer is... a budget computer system. If you can spend a few more bucks... it is likely in your best interest.

As for HP. Well "better vendor" is a matter of opinion. As anyone can pull a random sampling of people and find just as many HP haters as Dell ones. I mean my wife's company (of about 7000 employees) is now going back to Dell after spending a couple years with HP. Ya... that's how much better they are than Dell, lol.

Honestly if you want "better"... as in build quality, you need to look at Lenovo T series. Acer is for people on a budget and HP vs Dell... you might as well say Oranges are better than Oranges because they are both suffering from the same problems.

Amen to that brother! My T500 has been bulletproof for a year now. It's in the exact same "new" condition still.

Another yes to the Lenovo. They are the absolute BEST for Laptops.

The laptops are also 100% Linux Approved as well.
