/me waves

Might also want to get 4gb of RAM, since the V13 has one ram slot, might as well max it out for $90, as 4gb sticks vary from $150-$180, 2gb sticks are $60-80. Get the upgrade now so you don't have to take out the 2gb stick later on and replace it with the 4gb stick, assuming its easy to remove the panels.

try this

NCIX.com - Buy ASUS UL30A-A2 13.3IN 1366X768 Core 2 SU7300 4GB 500GB Webcam 8 Cell Win 7 Premium Notebook - UL30A-A2 In Canada.

500 GB HDD, 4GB ram for $859 plus all the regular extra costs.

FYI i built out one on dell's site as close as possible there were some differences.

1. There is no 8 cell battery option
2. the warranty on the dell i chose is 1 year with accidental damage

came to $999. So when you factor in taxes, shipping etc. you would pay about the same but get a larger battery and a slightly better warranty.

The V13 is simply stunning. Plus a matte screen = win.

so 500gb 5400rpm hdd. id rather have the 320gb 7200rpm.
4gb ram would be nice but i wouldnt pay any extra for it. with win7 ive never experienced any issues w/ 2gb. and in the future if i do need it it probably wont be for a while and by then ddr2 should be dirt cheap. no 8 cell: batt of v13 = 4 hrs, batt of ul30a=7hrs. this is the only compromise i can see so far with not getting the ul30a. and i dont remember the last time ive payed for a warranty because ive never bought one, absolutely doesnt matter to me. As long as its not some shady company that will screw me and send me something faulty it doesnt bother me.

So really at the end of the day its:

V13 (wayyyy nicer on the outside, thinner and lighter, but less battery life)

UL30a (uglyy mbp copier, thicker, heaver, but more batt)

ill take the v13.

no problem. let me know how the V13 works out for you as i am looking at getting a laptop and want some portability. I was looking at the UL50VT-a1 (since it has a larger screen and dual graphics card options. Both a G210m and 4500)
