Nice price on NCIX.com, girlfriend is highly interested in this product. Hard to find a review on that product, though, any thoughts?

GMA 950 video means Linux woes. The mobile internet will cost you a fortune. Similar lines have under performing batteries. The HP line has generally been poorly received. No SSD. Heavy for a NetBook. The deal breaker for me would be the even more cramped screen.

It is cheap, though. If your GF is a user she may like it.

Got one of these for my son last month at best buy for 299$.

It boots fast, has large keys, and has a nice screen.

Big dif with the keys compared to Asus 701 EeePc that I have.

Removed Works and the MS office trial and installed Ofiice 2007, he really likes it.

Thanks, so to resume :

Well, all that a netbook has to offer, besides :

No linux, ssd (which is not a problem for her)
Low life battery (3 cell i guess) and heavy
Cramped screen - do you mean it's a bad screen compared to other models or just because it's 10''

She just wants a small netbook to take notes and do homework for university.

I'll tell her the negative sides and let her choose.

Feel free to give more comments if you want.

I have OSX installed on mine and its running great. The keys are nice and big and I like the weight it has to it, makes it feel solid. The battery life is about 2 hours under OSX, but it did almost 3 when I was running XP. The screen is hardly cramped, I much preferred it to the Acer Aspire One 1st gen I was using prior.

I recommend it for the price, though I'd take one of the new Aspire Ones with the 11.6 inch screen and 1366 resolution, however their $100+ more.
