Default Moving to a Macbook

So I love my Acer notebook. Its the 5920g with the 8600gt. I love this thing and even bought the extended warranty because Acer kicks ass in my eyes, but I figured I'd get a Mac as well.. you can never have too many laptops right?!

Looking forward to getting this beast. I got the 2.4 ghz Aluminum unibody one from refurb. First thing I do is upgrade the ram and Hard drive.

Does anyone have the unibody macs? Does the trackpad get in the way?

SUCKEr.. Just kidding I never really understood why people go to a mac computer when they are so darn expensive . I would just get another laptop and put a good distro of Linux on it and play around with that.

I'm not an ignorant switcher, I acknowledge the apple tax. For me, I did like my OSX experience back when I had my Powerbook G4 and I'd like to try it again. More importantly, it does what I want it to do, it will run linux, osx and windows, and it will help me with a project of mine that is coming up.

I didn't mean (what I said) in offensive manner towards you . I just wonder why people in general buy a Mac when, as far as I know, most software is either Microsoft or Linux based.

Back OT, I've had a unibody 13" since their release last October and by and large it is a very good laptop. The trackpad, while ridiculously oversized(and awesome) doesn't get in the way much unless you are one of those who is accustomed to leaning their hands in the center of the laptop.

The biggest thing I am going to say: be very very careful, I got a slight knick to one of my keys and if I want it repaired and to retain my AppleCare it will cost $250 to replace the whole keyboard!

How much did you pay for your Mac? How much less was it than a new one?

30% off the original price. So add 30% to $1150. I wouldn't pay the full price.
