Default Mobile Nehalem Chips?

I'm in the market for a new laptop but I'm really hoping that the mobile Nehalem chips come out soon. I would like the laptop for September, but I willing to hold out for Nehalem until mid-january.

I heard that it was coming this fall, am I mistaken?

Can I ask you why you want a Nehalem chip in a laptop? I mean, you have a perfectly capable rig in your signature, so why not just get a budget laptop for when you're on the road or roaming about?

I'm on the road quite a bit doing research, and presentations. It's to much of a hassle to be constantly syncing data between two machines, and I would like to have a functional computer while away from home for gaming and number crunching. A Core 2 Duo laptop with a decent GPU would serve my purpose but I know that the mobile Nehalem chips are imminent so I thought I may as well wait for those

If you're in a corperate environment and this is for business, then why not use a VPN to access your work network then remote desktop to your main machine? Then you never need to sync, as everything stays safe and secure at your desk.

hmm, that may be a bit far away then.

And I'll try that VPN option for streaming data,

thanks all
