My System Specs

Default Help me buy my netbook

Hi, I'm currently looking for a good netbook. My current budget is around $400-500 anything more than 500 is a little too much for me. All I'm really looking for in one is general browsing and maybe some old low demand games, nothing too fancy. Good battery life is a bonus too. Here is what my choices are so far :

NCIX.com - Buy MSI Wind U100 Netbook Black Intel Atom 1.6GHZ 1GB 160GB 10IN WLAN with 9 Cell Battery - U100M-BN271610HW09L In Canada.

NCIX.com - Buy ASUS Eee PC 1000HE Intel Atom 160GB 1GB 160GB 10IN 1024X600 802.11N Webcam XP 6CELL Black Netbook - EPC1000HE-BLK005X In Canada.

NCIX.com - Buy ASUS Eee PC 1005HA Premium Crystal Black Intel Atom 1GB 160G 10IN 1024X600 WLAN BT Webcam XP Netbook - 1005HA-PU1X-BK In Canada.

I'm kind of leaning towards one of the ASUS's because of the 802.11 n. Is it much faster than g? I've heard some good things about the Wind too, though. Are there any other netbooks out there with more bang for the buck or ones you guys would recommend? Thanks

Have fun playing ANYTHING on a netbook, I really don't see that happening. Out of those I would get the U100 due to the 9 cell battery.

What about the wireless it supports? Would there be a noticeable difference between "g" and "n" ?

^^ What he said. About wireless you want N, it's much faster but not many routers support it but it is backwards compatible with G.

I can play CS 1.6 on my 1005HA at 20fps if that counts for anything. I am very pleased with it!

Have you tried games like World of Goo? Or Plants vs Zombies?
Those are the two games I'm interested playing on my soon-to-be 1005HA, but I can't seem to find a source saying if they'll run well.

I can see it doing Plants Versus Zombies easily, World of Goo shouldn't be too hard. They are 2D after all.

I think I'll get the 1005ha before the sale ends at NCIX. World of Goo looks pretty fun actually :D
