Default The EEE hoax

I had a 1000ha eee from asus and I needed to sell it since I have 2 three hour university classes one after another with no time to recharge my netbook's battery.
The asus 1000ha's specifications says that if you turn every down (no BT, no webcam, lowest screen lights, no wifi) you can get up to 7.5 hours of battery but it turns out to be a hoax... or a lie... whatever.
I never got it to run for more than 5hours30... and I even had to remove/trigger boot order, processes, services, etc from xp. Thats around 30% less than it should be delivering.

So, I sold my 1000ha and was thinking about buying a 1000he with the 6cell battery and supposedly ~10.5ish of battery life.
But then again if theres another 30% battery loss "hoax or lie" it means that the battery wont last more than 7.5ish hours... wich isnt bad but still...

Is there 9 cells for eee's? Maybe with a 9 cell I can push the battery like to 9-10hours wich would be perfect for me.
Where can I buy them and how much would it cost?

thanks

Any other ideas are welcome.

Using a car's booster pack is out of consideration! xD

EDIT : since I did not already buy the 1000he, which is around 439-450$ today. And asus already told us that the new models will come out in july, what should I expect to pay for the 1000he in the first half of september, what would be the approximate price drop? thank you.

EDIT 2 : I was tempted by the MSI 100U but after thinking it trought... I already bought a decal, I have extra ram and more for the eee wich will not be supported by the msi's netbooks. So I'll lose more for less buying another brand than eee.

I got a 9 cell battery for my Aspire one and I can now run it for 7 hours on low consumption. Perhaps they mean with a higher cell better, but I don't know. I find that a pisser, much like Mac's and their battery times.

Notebook/Netbook battery times have always been based on the manufacturer's most optimal of conditions. You know, optimal product settings, usage patterns, environmental conditions, etc. They also never tell you what those conditions are.

In fact, most consumer electronics are like that.

Edit: If you can somehow find it at your local staples, the 1000he is on sale for $399.99 + enviro fees. If it's available online where you're at, there may be some coupons somewhere that can save you another $20.

Why don't you just buy a spare battery?

You can find 12000 and 13000 mAH batteries on eBay which is like 10-cell? No idea what the quality is like though and I'd imagine they stick out a fair bit.

just got a 1000he im making a mini review of it, on auto power i get roughly 8 hours. of juice i dont use wifi if im getting that, and i disabled bluetooh and the camera. i have a 2gb stick and a 320gb 7200 drive on the way theni will review it. though i think my speakers are dying lol, asus said just upgrade it and if they die they will just replace them and not touch my data or drive. I fing love this thing. it rapes my old skool games and i got it overclocked to 1.8ghz, thats b4 the 2GB 800 chip. EDIT i use only one away from full brightness thoughs o if u used indoors with half, it would last id say 8 1/2.
