My System Specs

Default New Gaming Laptop - OS Choice
So I just ordered my new toy yesterday:
Toshiba Canada - mobile computing - notebooks - qosmio notebooks - Qosmio X300

So now, as I eagerly await it's arrival, I'm trying to decide if I should stick with "Vista Home Premium 64" or if I should consider moving it to XP Pro 32? Or perhaps even try the Windows 7 Beta on it?

Mostly I'm just really leery about gaming with Vista...

Lots of people game on Vista and there really isn't as much difference in performance as you might think.

I wouldn't run Windows 7 Beta w/ SLI on a laptop w/ no official driver support.

Stick with Vista 64, it's solid. That Qosmio is one big monster. Played with em at BB. Enjoy :)

Stick with Vista, I am using vista 64 and have had nothing but success in all aspects. Besides if you drop to XP 32 you will loose the use of 1 gig of your ram. 32bit OS will only see 3 gig.

Well that seems to be a resoundingly unanamous cry to stay with Vista, so I'll give it a go.

I'll also be posting a brief review of the X300 and it's 3DMark scores when I get my hands on it.

Thats one beast of a laptop, I was trying one out at Bestbuy. I would have gone with an Asus personally, you can pick one up wth the same specs for about $1500, also I find the Toshiba pretty gaudy with all the excess plastic and flames. Nice rig nonetheless though.

EDIT: nevermind I didn't see the SLI, the price makes sence now.

The other thing is that I purchased this through my company at a corporate discount, so I shaved a few hundred off the price. An ASUS was one of my top choices, but the wholesaler we deal with doesn't cary ASUS. My choices were this, HP, or DELL. So the X300 was far and away the best choice.
