Default ASUS A88XM-A FM2+ Unboxing and Overview

Today we are going to be taking a look at one of the first A88X motherboards one the market from ASUS. I also go into some detail about the upcoming Kaveri APU and what we can expect from AMD in the next coming months. This motherboard was for a client so I did not have anytime to benchmark the board.

Are they going with the 'gold' standard even for A88? Blegh!

Personally I don't mind the yellow. But the brown PCB is super odd. At first I thought it was black from the pictures but when I got it home a looked at it, its was chocolaty brown.

I have seen pictures of there flagship a88x boards in the same colour scheme as there current a85x. So I am hoping not all there boards will be yellow and brown for fm2+.

Nothing wrong with brown, I quess. It is more important that how the mobo will perform...

I would like to see more capacitors on the Vcore input, tough. Two is bad. That reminds me of the PK5 series disasters, where the caps exploded when overclocking it tried... that is the flip side of allowing low end mainboards these nice tweaks. Some people will confuse it for a overclocking board and act irresponsibly.

Nice little video review of the small board - hell, it is almost as big, as your hands! :)
