lol about the camera, its like a $199 Canon - point and shoot for old ladies. Macro-mode, vivid colors, no flash. thats all!

The original Ninja had a terrible base, after using it once it was all tarnished. It also had some pretty deep scratches, so I decided to sand it clean. What a horror show, from the first pass on the sandpaper, I could see the base was as wavy as the ocean. it probably had less than 10% contact because it was so wavy. I hit it with 600grit, 800grit, and 1000grit, then used some polish on it. It helped alot, I was also getting 70 degree temps before the lap, and it came down into the low 60's area.

The tests I posted above were about 10 minutes after applying thermal paste. As of today, my idle temps have dropped a couple degrees, but my load temps are down to 47!! Now I'm starting to really be impressed! I'm going to give it a few more heat/cool cycles then do another bench.

here are the final results now that the AS5 has set in. I'm not used to seeing this much difference!

Ninja Rev. B load temp: 57c
Ninja Copper load temp: 47c

I'm very pleased ;)

You might want to try and get your hands on some MX-2 by Arctic Cooling. That will lower your temps even more!
