Heh... if I could browse the forums, and figure out how to input text (the kids do it fairly quickly with cell phones all the time), that'd be the cat's a$$. How do you control the mouse cursor?

That's a pretty cool device imo. If not only for the browsing.

You use the four direction pad beside the keyboard. The centre is select or enter. It isn't that hard to move around. Also, there is a shift key on the left side of the keyboard that allows for finer movement of the cursor, but it seems to float to hot spots fine.

The keyboard is standard QWERTY, no numbers though. You have to use alt-q through alt-p for 1 through 0, or press the sym key and a symbols matrix pops up to select numbers and symbols.

All in all, it isn't that bad.

As a reader though, I don't think it will be beat... it is compact, holds tons of content, and you can get more right on the device if you have connectivity. That last bit isn't too bad with 3G (it defaults down to 2G and EDGE - whatever that network is) and is great with WiFi at home and I bet it will work with a hotspot of any kind just fine.

Thank you very much for that review. I'm still looking at all the different options but I think you kinda sold me on the kindle.

How is the leather? Is it flexible enough?

The leather is a bit stiff, it does fold back fine though, and I think with some time it will soften up a bit. I think it will protect the device just fine, and it does look rather stylish :)

I really like hard copies of books, but I might just have to pick up one of these for the portability. Would be great for planes etc.

I really thought that the books would be a lot cheaper than tue hard copies though... That's a bit disappointing.

Looks good, and it the right price for sure. If they would only add some kind of lighting though.

Not really sure why anybody would want it, but there's now an app to read your kindle books on your PC.....

I'm really interested in this now. E-book readers have interested me for a while, but this looks like the model that's worth the plunge. The price certainly seems right.
