Now I also thought it was the other way round, in fact optimus was designed like that, it switches to nvidia graphics only when you're gaming or gpu heavy apps, but switches back to integrated when system is idle to save on battery life.

Or something in those lines, you should check FixT's review on optimus, he explains it perfectly.

Hmm, I actually remember reading that before. This will warrant further testing. Although I'm sure if you are really using it and watching movies and web surfing and such and not just idling then the Nvidia will suck more power.

True but assume the same scenario, say web browsing/office with Aero disabled, the results, in theory, should favour NVIDIA.

Could just be driver/platform related though. Hard to say.

Awesome review. I think I will be getting this one to replace my 5.5 year old Pentium M/9700 Mobile Asus notebook.
