Area 51 Delivered

Got my new Alienware and it was delivered in 7 days. Go figure. I'm waiting for killswitch to come over today and help get this monster properly set up. It weighs in at 89 pounds. Once it's all going I will provide a honest opinion on all features. Take care all.,

I too would love to see pictures of this system, 89 lbs geez. I hope you dont move around much or that you keep in shape since they'll be a pain to move around often

How much did you pay for the complete system? $4k?

Dear god, I thought my NZXT Whisper was super heavy at ~50lbs with a full system in it.... does that weight include a monitor?

Nope! That's the weight of the tower alone. When you buy the ALX series, you get motors on front panel as well as extra fans etc.All of this adds weight and this thing is built to last. I paid a lot of money for this rig but my friend Killswitch went on line and configured the same parts as tho he was going to buy and build an exact copy and the price was only around $600.00 less. For any extra money I put out,I have a 3 year on site etc. warranty. If anyone has read any of my threads they will see that Dell has been very very good to me. Killswitch is a former field tech having worked on Dell PCs and I asked him to come to my house this weekend and help me put together a proper review as well as some pics. All the bells and whistles, pros and cons etc. will be provided by a person I am sure most of you know and trust.I on the other hand, am new here and not near as savvy as Killswitch. Thaks all for your interest.

While these Alienwares aren't exactly high in the value category, their warranties could pay for themselves IMO.

Still waiting for those pics. :)
