Well if you used linux and are comfortable with it you probably won't be that lost in OSX, for the command line it's pretty much the same. For the GUI sure it's different, but again you can run X11 without problem so you could have whatever window manager you would like and whatever X11 program that you would like to run. A thing nice also is that you don't need a X windows manager to run X apps, even in aqua you can run X programs and they will run seemless.

+1, Apple is over priced, I actually like the Mac OS, I also like the way that Macs look, but they over price all there products..

And the thing that really irritates me the most is the Mac ads :P, I've honestly never had BSOD's on any of my systems, infact I think its probably the same for many people here.. I don't even use anti-virus, never have and never will, I do however leave firewall on at all times and use Firefox to browse the net.. I've never encountered any security/virus issues or any lag for that matter..

At the moment I use Snow Leopard as my main OS, and its because I prefer the Snow Leopard interface over Windows 7..

I have been thinking of getting an iMac, but I still believe they are overpriced :P..

Ya iMovie allowed me to make some very good movies for high school projects. It is so easy and fast. Did most of the work in a few hours after video recording to have a quality film.

Many Hackintoshers eventually buy a Mac after they play around with the OS and use the apps.

Much to their amazement ... they like it and want the real thing.

BTW I upgraded the hdd in the used mini I purchased from an 80GB to a 320GB and discovered whoever upgraded the ram last time forgot to put the mobo screws in ...

These are small ones 2mm x 5mm and one 2mm x 7mm ... any idea where one could buy small screws like this ?

well, I must offer my condolences. Macs are rapidly becoming one of the most flawed, bugridden, virus prone OSes out there.
