My System Specs

Quote:
asus p6t mb
asus 4870 1 gb gpu
17 920 cpu this time oclockable
1tb segate 7200 rpm hd
cooling by thermalite
850w psu
Silverstone Temjin TJ09 ATX Case
vista home premium 64 bit
Pretty solid platform, assuming "thermalite" is ThermalRight?

Don't see any memory?

Not bringing up the Seagate issue(s), in my opinion a Western Digital or Samsung drive would be a better choice.

850w PSU...Which brand?

Case...Great choice!!

Just my opinion, hopefully the more experienced can chime in on recommendations.

Regards,

EE

asus 4870? i don't know about their warranty, but i suppose HIS or XFX would be better?

+1 for wester digital HDD
be more precise for the cooling

if there is some good ram, i suppose it should be a pretty good build.

That TPQ 850 is overkill for your build. If your cash flow isn't an issue, then by all means buy it. It'll serve you well and give your system a bit of futureproofing. If you're in a bit of a budget crunch, go with a less powerful Corsair unit.

I wouldn't touch a TPQ 850W Antec with a 5000' pole. Corsair all the way.

Well I am currently working on a system, and so far I have a TJ04B, a pair of 1TB WD Caviar Blacks, and a 610W PCP&C Silencer. I figure the 920 and a P6T is a good choice. I will absolutely use an nvidia card though. ATI is still in my "bad company" book for their many years of crappy support. Seagate seems to have had a lot of firmware issues over the last few years. Not something I want to put up with either.

This is why I personally don`t like Gateway! You should talk to the CostCo Customer support! If they aren`t any help, return it and get another system! Always remember to do your research!
