|RESOLVED| How to ACTUALLY move iTunes Library
I've read the Apple Guide on how to move libraries, and it didn't work, of course. I am able to move the library, but then when I run iTunes, it doesn't recognize that the library has been moved. Any help is much appreciated.
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod has your purchased content from the iTunes Store, you can transfer the content to a computer that is authorized for your Apple ID.
Note: This option only works for content you purchased from the iTunes Store (as opposed to content from other sources, such as CDs you may have imported). For content you did not purchase from the iTunes Store, synchronization occurs in one direction only. This means your content can be copied from a computer to your iOS device, but cannot be copied from your device to a computer.
Hold shift and open iTunes. Choose Library. Navigate to the location of the iTunes Library itl file. iTunes should now load that library. Then go to iTunes, edit, preferences. Advanced. iTunes Media File Location. Change. Navigate to the location of where your music files are located. In most cases this will be the same place as the iTunes Library itl file.
thanks lowfat, problem solved.
