got a imac with no hdd so i got a 250gb sata hdd intalled in boot up and just white screen then a file pops up in the middle of the screen thats it nothing works tried booting from disk pressing c and option still nothing no boot options no anything any ideas

Is this an Intel iMac or G5? Have you reset PRAM? Reset Open Firmware or SMC? All of this is on the Apple kbase.
