Best way to get a cheap MAC

Apple's refurbished computers generally work very well. A couple of my friends have purchased them and haven't had any issues. They come with a 1 Year AppleCare Warranty on them.

I recommend purchasing refurbed mac products, but it depends on what you're buying.

I bought a iMac probably 6 years ago (20 inch 2.66gh) which was refurbished. It worked great and had no problems. It basically was brand new and I saved quite a bit of cash in the process.

I sold the first iMac and decided to go to higher res and therefore went with a refurbed 27inch iMac which was notorious for it's yellow tint upon initial release. Well, long story shot, I went through 4 units which ALL had the yellow screen issue... I spent a month going back and forth with apple and it was a total nightmare...
