Default Macbook[black plastic body] Problems (backlight died?)

Title says it all, I knew it happened with these things just didn't know when lol,

anyone have any remedies for this? =\ At first it just had trouble "waking up" from sleep mode, it just did it a little slower, then the first time the backlight went out was a few weeks ago, rebooted, and it was fine.

Battery sucks so I'm usually running it at the lowest backlight setting.

Ran both Mac OS and Windows 7, but usually W7 lol.

If I can't fix this, I can pull the harddrive and plug it into my desktop yeah?..or another mac? (to boot mac side)

thanks HWC
