LOL nice one.

Just to let you all know, Apple is having a conference this Friday with the media to discuss about the engineering behind the antenna, and will declare whether or not "holding it wrong" was an issue.

How do you hold an iPhone wrong? I mean its not like we have people holding these things up to the microwave to try to get the antenna to work are we?

Its just an iphone excuse because they f**ked up in the design. Rather then admit they made a mistake and botched the design, they blame their user base saying "ITS NOT US, ITS YOU!".

Great company.

I thought the issue wasn't with the actual antenna, but was instead a problem with how the firmware negotiated between stronger/weaker available signals.... I don't own an Iphone so I've only been picking up bits and pieces here and there so I could be wrong......

You're correct. I talked about the false signal/firmware issue in the other iP4 thread. However, there is another issue that was released by Consumer Reports showing that the phone drops calls.

Two issues; One that can be firmware masked or OS updated (the signal degradation), and another one that no one knows if it can be fixed yet (Dropped Calls).

Thats what they are claiming. Consumer reports calls BS! on that claim though. In controller environments they were able to replicate the issue. So software or not, too many bars or not....their design team screwed up. Plain and simple.

I'd wait for the 4GFix to come out before getting an Iphone 4 (but a 3gs has been singing its Siren song to me....sigh). YMMV

EDIT:
ninja'ed!

Heh.... I watched a talking head on BNN yesterday talking about RIM vrs Apple and it was very clear that in spite of the obvious faults of iP4, their marketing machine is still poised to absolutely dominate the market. (Gotta go back and watch that "I want an iPhone" vid..... ;) ).
