If I have a crappy only computer, can I just upgrade my graphics card for games?

Unfortunately it's not always that simple. Upgrading your graphics card (if you have a really bad one) probably WILL help, but it may not deliver all of its potential performance in your computer. This video has more details:

IF you are going to upgrade your computer you will be buying a new video card any-ways, so you could try it to see if you can extend the life of your existing system. If it does not work to your satisfaction you will already have it for your upgrade. One thing to watch for is that your existing power supply is robust enough to power any new card that you try.
