New Apple iPhone 5 (Rumors and Thoughts)

Hey Everyone!
I don't get on the site all too much (sorry).

But I wanted to start a thread about the new "Apple iPhone 5"

Basically I am still sporting a Blackberry Bold 9800 and I'm sick of it.
Its slow as snails and just seems to be so far behind the rest of the technology (and doesn't look to be catching up anytime too soon). And by no means meets the requirements i need in a smartphone anymore.

I'm very much leaning towards the new iPhone 5 (whenever it comes out).
I know the Google Android phones are well liked as well (with the new ice cream sandwhich tech and all).
But I've heard many good and bad reviews from sites and friends about them as well.
I guess no smartphone is perfect, right!!!

I know the new iPhone will likely sport a new overall look, larger screen display, 16:9 aspect ratio, two tone case, more centralized front camera, iOS6, either a new 19-pin dock connectors or 8-pin, quad-core processor, 4G/LTE, and i heard the possibility of liquidmetal technology.....

1) What are peoples thoughts on the new iPhone 5 and its rumoured upgrades??

2) What have you heard about it? Any confirmations on release dates??

I think it's hilarious that Apple is changing the docking connector.

That's gonna piss some people off..... :thumb:

All part of Apple's regular "force their consumers to scrap their existing accessories/parts/adapters and force them to buy all new ones" schedule. Why anyone ever puts up with Apple's BS tactics and ridiculous market schemes is beyond me.

Of course, how else are they going to sell the exact accessories to their customers if they already own them, new connector!

So why would you willingly buy in to a company that has a history of screwing over it's users?

i beg to differ... a charger for an iPhone 3 can still be used today, on your bleeding edge iphone 4s. wasnt the iPhone 3 relesaed in 2007?

yeah i thought so... bs tactics indeed

Some exaggeration is included, however your iphone 4s charger, cables and other accessories will not be compatible with the iphone 5.

As for BS tactics, look into how ridiculous their schemes are for accepting and denying apps are in the marketplace. Or look at how crazy it is if you say want to deploy a large number of them in the workplace. With a sharp limit on the number of devices per apple id, the management side of things gets excessive quickly from that alone. Or look at the lack of any sort of built in memory reader. Expandable memory? Nah we can charge you crazy prices for that instead. Oh one day that app you relied on was in the app store and tomorrow we removed it? Tough luck.

There are a LOT of reasons to avoid any sort of Apple product. Their whole corporate cultures pisses me off personally, which is yet another reason I avoid them as much as possible. Not to mention the fanboy culture they have built up is another annoyance.

Whoa there... Half dead angry Meta coming through.

Bleeding edge? Please!!! everyone knows iphones are 6-8 months behind android phones. Take my Galaxy S3 for example... Million features no silly iphone 4S can match, including NFC, a screen worthy of 2012 and it isnt a thick brick of a phone.

Yes, apple is making everyone change accessories for money. We know this. And by we, I mean those of us wise enough to realize that iphones are a moneygrab product for a greedy company, to be sold the dumb masses.

Last point: just about all androids use a standard usb A to B-micro cable to charge (and transfer data WITHOUT itunes), how long has that cable been around? *pause for googling...* 2007. Ayup.

End of rant.... I prolly shouldnt post while drinking.
