Default Update 4.0.2 + 3GS = Problem
Hello,

Just to let everyone know I can't update my 3GS to the new firmware. It get stuck at like 20% (iphone screen). I had to restore back to 4.0.1

If I can offer some advice: jailbreak your phone instead of doing the official update. I have found it really useful.

I don't know if you have ever tried it; if you have and didn't like it, nevermind my suggestion. But if you haven't tried it because you are worried about the process, give it a shot, it's easy as pie!

Just picked up a 3G today for my dad, was messed up when I got it. Had to recovery mode it back, which forced it into 4.0.2. Seems fine on the 3G, thankfully can still JB on 4.0.2 if you have the 3G, used redsn0w. I'd stay away from any updates if possible if you like to JB.

there are many problems with 3GS' and 3G that have upgraded their firmware. Hopefully IOS 4.3 is better!
