iPhone 4 Officially Announced

Here are the specs:

I was mostly on the money based on specs, except for the screen type and drive space. I really thought that they were going 32/64GB but guess I was wrong on that.

As for the screen, they are apparently using something better than AMOLED in terms of picture quality and resolution. Endgaget said that its the best screen they've ever seen.

Nothing new here, same posts as those around in Engadget and so.

I highly doubt it'll end up looking like that, I'm gonna have to say that is a prototype design or just a temporary casing or something. Is not how Apple usually designs their hardware.

I actually agree with Gizmodo on that regard:

Despite that, however, this design is not a departure. Not when you frame it with the rest of the Apple product line. It's all the contrary: This new iPhone gets back to the simplicity of the iMac and the iPad. In fact, you can argue that the current iPhone 3GS—with its shiny chrome rim and excessively curved back—is out of place compared to the hard edges and Dieter-Ramish utilitarianism of the iMac and the iPad. Next to the iPad, for example, the new iPhone makes sense. It has the same feeling, the same functional simplicity.

The next generation iPhone has been revealed by Gizmodo.

Not much is known spec wise, apparently the new screen has a higher resolution (as expected) and a front-facing camera.

I expect the screen to be AMOLED to compete with the Droid phones and their wonderful screens. The thing with Apple is that when they release new tech its usually up-to-par with other competitors in terms of specs so I think we'll see around a 1ghz clock, probably 768 - 1gb of ROM, and probably 32GB/64GB variants of memory.

Of course, that's just what I speculate.

I personally think it looks far less dumb than the current iPhone. I never liked the curved back of the iPhone.

I'd still never let my wallet anywhere near one of those things though, still a firm hater of Apple, and lover of Google. (Android)

And I'm with you, they want to monopolize the whole industry. Overpriced products, I hate Apple.

It will neevr have the best screen - Samsung's Super AMOLED holds that regard and I don't think they are licensing that out. Samsung only!

Methinks it is an iClone of some sort.

Did you read the whole story they posted up? I thought that as well at first, but after that long article, it seems to be pretty real. Especially the part where Apple is missing a prototype phone and wants it back.

belgolas April 19, 2010 04:09 PM

Ya this is real. Apple has to test the phones long before they are launched so this is highly possible. I really like the look of this model so hope it doesn't change as the iPhone looks too much like a kiddie hand held device while this looks more professional.

Ha this is funny:

I told them, all they have to do to get it back is to claim it—on record. This formal request from Apple's legal department is that claim. It proves—if there was any doubt in your mind—that this thing is real.
