Default need a good dvd player that shuffles dvd of mp3s

I'm looking for a dvd player that gives me lots of options for mp3 playing - like shuffle and full text display.

my current el-cheapo Daytek dvd player ($40) barely plays burned cds of mp3 files, but it gets messed up when folder names are longer than 8 characters and it can't play dvds with mp3 files on them.

Also, I'm looking for a dvd player that plays lots of different types of video files such as dix, mpg and avi if possible.

The ability to play mp4 files would be an asset as well.

I'm sick of crappy dvd players and want to invest in a good one

I dont have Hi def and I dont care about blu ray capability.

The new dvd players main duty will be playing music and second is watching dvds as we only have a regular stereo (paradigm speakers with a pioneer amp - oldschool stuff but it sounds great) and an analog tv

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Looks like this one might be the ticket:

Philips DVP642 DVD player brings MPEG4 to the masses - The INQUIRER

however I'm still up for personal experience suggestions....I'd rather hear from someone who actually owns and uses the device
