extending Bluetooth range I have a few spare parts kicking around and was going to put together a HTPC with steams big picture. I had asked before about low power setups and how to best hide my setup. The parts I have on hand right now are more powerful then I had originally thought of using, and that got me thinking of Big Picture. I picked up a HDMI extender to run the 100' from my server room to my TV. XBMC has great remote control apps to control it. but every now and again I want a keyboard and mouse, especially if I am going to use big picture with a controller. I originally remembered about networked usb hubs.... but hot damn pretty much commercial prices and don't know how well they work. So now I am looking at maybe a bluetooth range extender, does anyone know if such a beast exists? |
Never thought about it until your post. 28 Miles do? |
Only $299, might string some active usb extenders together with a bluetooth dongle under my living room floor to get my range. |
I was a little shocked at the prices too. I don't use Bluetooth as I've always found it to be rather flaky. Seems OK for phone to phone file transfers but for KB/Mouse on a PC it really is hit and miss. |
