I wished JD, I actually have a Pioneer AVIC-F900BT on my desk available; but it does not offer (like all car radios) a HDMI output for the DVD: the only video output is a composite Out.

Thanks Steve for more options, I'll dig into those also.

Just need to find that amp! No worries about the existing amplifier (18w per canal), and the existing 6.5" speakers will be replaced anyway.
As per the scythe unit that runs off of 12V (the NCIX model actually has a molex connector for power) any of the small 12V amps like this one ( Amazon.com: Lepai TRIPATH TA2020 Class T Mini Amp Hi-Fi Stereo Audio Amplifier: Electronics ) could be powered by a molex connector and thus would be powered on by the PC power supply whenever you turned on the htpc. If you had the room you could even mount one to the outside of your HTPC case to address possible internal heat issues, all you would need would be to run a power connector from an internal 12V molex to the power input of the mini amp.

AVerMedia AVerTV Global - TV Tuners, Live IPTV Streaming Encoder, Video Capture Card, Media Player and Multimedia Products - AVer3D CaptureHD may solve all your problems as it accept HDMI in as well as everything else that you want.

With some of the cards that do FM or OTA TV you may have to get a manual switch between the two as I believe the one I linked only has one connection. Though how hard would it be to add in a source switch for those two?

I like this - powered straight from the PSU. Great!

I've read the description a few times, and aside from the 3D aspect I don;t see what's different with the other cards?

Nothing really, just that it supports FM/OTA TV, as well as HDMI in. Most of the cards don't have both of them together

k, tx. Digging through countless websites I stumbled upon this model, which fits my needs too: OTA (analog + digital) and on-air FM: Hauppauge Computer Works : WinTV-HVR-1850
It's available at the egg too.

Tx all. I think I have all I need.

Only downside to that is you don't have your HDMI in that AverMedia has with their models.

Certainly pricier than what showed up at the US Amazon website, but this site (link from Amazon) has several different T class amps and is Canadian.

edit: so what did you decide on for an amp?

I'm sorry - I meant HDMI output from a GPU to the 27" LCD. The board I found (Newegg.ca - ZOTAC D2700ITXS-A-E Intel Atom D2700 (2.13 GHz, Dual Core) Intel NM10 Mini ITX Motherboard/CPU/VGA Combo) has everything I need: HDMI, Wireless N, BT and an msata port for a no-cables setup.

Woah, great site! I'll dig in there. I taught about buying the Scythe for the PP price, but now I'm not sure... tx again!

Thanks Steve, I've found my amp! Not as cheap as the other models but being a Class D power and quality should be there: https://www.springwateraudio.com/sto...9f73f285742eee
