My System Specs

Default New HTPC build FM2 based.

My blu-ray player died so I started spec'ing out a new FM2 based HTPC and was surprised how much it ends up costing, so far it's $405 without taxes/shipping or a HDD/SDD.

What do you think of this build?

I could get a smart blu-ray player now for around $119 but I hear they aren't so reliable are there any other solutions out there?

Case: SilverStone ML03B

Motherboard: ASUS F2A55-M FM2 AMD

CPU: AMD A4-5300 Trinity 3.4GHz

Memory: Kingston 8GB 1600 1.5V

Blu-ray Player: ASUS Blu-Ray Player

Logitech Keyboard: Wireless Keyboard/pad

I don't think that's the memory you want. Trinity works best with dual channel setups.

I'd recommend this one: Newegg.ca - Kingston HyperX Blu 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model KHX1600C9D3B1K2/8GX

Or this one: Newegg.ca - CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B

Even better, go with 1866 memory:

Newegg.ca - G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL

APUs use RAM as VRAM, so the faster the better, generally. It doesn't make much difference, but it probably does make $10 worth...

HTPC: Z77A-G45; 3770K; Zalman FX70; 2x4GB Kingston HyperX 1600Mhz; MSI GTX960; 2x 128GB Crucial M4 SSD; 4TB WD Red, 2x 2TB WD Green; Corsair RM650I; Corsair Carbide 600C;
Son's Rig: M5A97; FX8350; CNPS20LQ; 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz; Powercolor 7950; 250GB Crucial MX200; 320GB WD Black HDD; SPI 700W; Bitfenix Shinobi;
