My System Specs

Smile Hardware

DVI to HDMI works if u have another connection for audio, like fibre optic. Either that, or pc speakers. I used both, and prefer the DVI and fiber optic.

HDMI is obviously the way 2 go, but the dvi/fiber optic option works well with my surround sound system. Perhaps look at a tv card, which aren't that much money.

Edit: Isn't the S Video cable only video, which needs another cable 4 audio Arinoth? Seems 2 me I had a 2nd cable 4 audio in that case, which if I remember worked pretty good with older setups.

It's been a while since setting up 1 of those.

To everybody, thank you for all the help.
I just tried the "extend desktop and drag" it worked.

I'm doing the 2 older tv s with s-video(x800xl for one/ 1950Pro for other) and the newer 46" lcd with a dvi-d to hdmi 25' cable (8800GTS).

Again thanks.

Ps,yes, s video needs seperate audio cables but I've got lots of them.

BAM! Sometimes the simplest thing works the best. Surprised no one suggested it before me.

Glad it works!

That is exactly what I used to use back in the day before I used a dedicated HTPC. Even used a 50 foot s-video cable. Of course that was to an older non HD tv.
